The history of Smorgon Gymnasium began on August 1, 1979. It was School №4 at that time . The first principal of the school was Boris Mikhailovich Khinevich. Thanks to the energy and determination of Boris Mikhailovich Khinevich and  the  team of teachers united by one idea, the school gradually turned into an institution of a new type - a gymnasium, the first in Smorgon region. 2757 students graduated from our Gymnasium. There were 315 gold medalists and  216 silver medalists among them.

Attributes of the festive event "School opening" (KP 193, KP 194, KP 196, KP 197, KP 199).
On October 27, 1979, the grand opening of the building of the new secondary school No. 4 took place.
The attributes of the event are presented in the exposition "... Life began here":
- School bell (KP 193).
- The symbolic key given by the builders to the school director (KP 194).
- Red ribbon (KP 196).
- Scissors (KP 197).
- Red pillow (KP 199).

Certificate of awarding Anatoly Alekseevich Bukaev the badge "Excellence in Public Education" (KP 205).
Certificate No. 121-k on awarding the badge "Excellence in Public Education" issued by the Ministry of Education of the Belarusian SSR to A.A. Bukaev. June 8, 1987.
Standard brown form measuring 6 cm by 8.5 cm; text in Belarusian.
Donated to the museum by M.V. Bukaeva, a wife of A.A. Bukaev, on March 15,1998.

Badge of the Central Committee of Komsomol "For excellent studies" with a certificate (KP 1164).
Anna Grishkevich , a student, (1979) was awarded the badge of the Komsomol Central Committee "For excellent studies".
Donated to the museum by A.A. Pitolenko (A. Grishkevich), a gymnasium teacher,  on April 14, 2007.

Abacus, a counting frame (KP 1117, KP 1406).
The abacus, also called a counting frame, is a calculating tool that was in use for arithmetic calculations in accounting, as well as in the educational process.
The frame and the beads are wooden, the wires are metal. 
The abacus measuring 25 cm by 40 cm has 11 wires with beads.
The abacus measuring 16.5 by 24 cm has 9 wires with beads.

Information bulletin "Gimnazist", first edition (KP 873).
The first edition of the bulletin was published in November 1998. The results of the competition for the best name of the gymnasium newspaper were summed up, the headings of the new edition were proposed, and its editorial board was presented.

Newspaper "GIMNAZIST", №1 (KP 873).
The newspaper was a publication of the Unity Association of school-gymnasium No. 4 in Smorgon. The first issue was published in December 1998.
